Updates

Its time for a little catch up here.

As most everyone I'm sure knows by now- as Alex and I have not even tried to keep it a secret. We are expecting a baby! Very exciting news indeed :)
A bit overwhelming and its definitely taking its time to sink in for us. But we had our first prenatal visit yesterday and everything looks good. Momma is having a few lovely side effects but will be all better in a few days thanks to the miraculous medications. Morning sickness was getting the best of us but we are combating that with a concoction of B6 and unisom and it seems to be working really well. Our original EDD was May 3 2011- which happens to also be Alex's birthday, the doc changed it up to May 5th so close- and this happens to be my dads birthday. So Happy birthday grandpa and daddy to be! Our next appointment is on October 15th at which time we will get to hear the little heartbeat.
We really like my Midwife, she is a Nurse practitioner as well as a Midwife and teaches or taught in the BYU nursing program. I am also having an intern attend with my regular midwife so it feels a bit like a 2 for 1 deal. Both ladies are very nice and informative. We are excited for our next appointment and look forward to hearing the heartbeat for the very first time :)

  1. Hearing the heartbeat is so exciting! Comparable to actually seeing the baby in ultrasound, I say. So who is your CNM? I'm seeing a CNM as well, at Rocky Mountain Womens Health Center (delivering at Davis). Gretchen Faucett CNM delivered Annie, and Vivian Dearden CNM will be delivering Molly. I've never been to an OB... always thought a midwife was the way to go.

  2. Im seeing Vivian Dearden also! I love her, I saw her before we were married and felt like she was full of great information. I feel like an OB is a bit overkill for a normal healthy pregnancy. I want to do things as naturally as I can, hopefully vivian will help me to do this :)
